About Elsie, Oregon

Nestled within Clatsop County, Oregon, Elsie is an unincorporated community situated in the scenic Northern Oregon Coast Range. Found to the west of the convergence of Oregon Route 103 and U.S. Route 26, Elsie resides near the crossing of roads over the Nehalem River.

The community’s namesake, Elsie Foster, was kin to George Gragg, the inaugural postmaster. Marking its place in local history, the Elsie post office was established in 1892, only to conclude its service in 1943.
